Basketball Drills: Ball Handling-Release Dribble (Behind the back)

A release dribble is something you want to use when you are trying to escape a trap, great ball pressure or a double team. All you want to do is use your off hand to protect the ball and take a step backwards. Once you have done that you can change directions. Here I am going behind my back and pushing the ball forward. The next move I am retreating and going behind my back in a stationary position then I am moving forward. These are slightly different moves but either way will get you out of trouble.
